For many years, Zheng Dao Lo has held multiple annual tournaments, allowing our students to test their skills against their fellows in a fun, competetive and supportive environment. Many of our students have gone on to compete at national and international levels using the skills developed in these tournaments. While primarily internal club tournaments, we have also extended invitations to other local schools, to allow both schools the chance to develop and demonstrate their skills in a friendly environment.
These Tournaments are open to the public, and are a great way to show off the skills developed within the academy to friends and family.
As Kickboxing is a combat sporting system, regular Tournaments are natural part of its study, to allow students to put their sparring to a practical test. Available in both Points and Continuous scoring systems, with appropriate divisions to ensure that competetitors fight on the most even field.
Kung Fu students use tournaments both as a method to demonstrate their skills in form via empty-hand and weapon demonstrations, as well as a chance to test their applications against each other in a controlled environment through the use of San Da.
Tai Chi students are encouraged to perform regular demonstrations of form at our tournaments, either singularly or in groups, as well as having the opportunity to engage in Tui Shou (Pushing Hands)
